Wongawilli, a Tradition of Ministry
Friday, July 22nd, 2005Today (24th July, 2005), as we meet to weigh up the best use of our property for ministry, it’s good to remember the fine gospel tradition at Wongawilli.
Gwyn D learned about Jesus there through the weekly Sunday school. His mum didn’t talk much about her faith, but always sent him along. Heather B learnt about Jesus there too, and her great aunt Miss Gertie Smith taught classes there.
Telling people about Jesus is still out first priority. And doing this brings glory to God, as men and women and children find forgiveness and new life. Out church seeks to share this gospel using all of our people and resources.
During the wear the hall was used to raise funds for the cause. The women’s guild was very active, and they’d polish floorboards with kerosene and wood chips for the dances.

The gospel continued to be preached in monthly church services until 1972. At that time, the church donated most of their pews and other furnishing to St Aidan’s. The hall is now used for Op Shop storage, and so is still in the use for our Lord’s work.
