Great News for 2007
Tony and Priscilla Michael will now be staying with us until July 2007. Over 12 months ago I persuaded the Michael’s to postpone their retirement from March 2006 until the end of November 2006 because of their great service to the parish. Recently they discovered the significant advantages of their remaining till after July 2007.
Commitments had already been made to our new 2007 Assistant Minister and yet our Wardens have also found a way to be generous to the Michael’s. We will be employing them part time for the six months following their return from Long Service Leave at the end of January. We are now exploring how we can help them with their housing.
Some parishioners have asked about the wisdom of the Michael’s being away at such a busy time of the year. There was no choice! They would have forfeited enormous Diocesan benefits if they didn’t commence their leave in November, 2006.
Further great news is that the Rev. Tudno Rees had agreed to again become more involved in the ministry of our church. He will help cover for Tony’s absence over Christmas and will continue an increased involvement especially after July, 2007.

Set Sail Into The Future
Parish Day of Celebration
Saturday, 4th November 6-8pm
The Architectural Panel has “signed off”. The plans are lodged with Council (another recent meeting concerning landscaping and the preschool has again been most positive). We are well on the way to reaching our 2006 fund raising target.
Its time to give thanks to God and join as a church family for an evening of fellowship. The theme is about our church “Setting Sail” on this great adventure. In keeping with the theme there will be something for everybody. We will set the ministry centre up as a “Cruise Liner”.
There will be…
- A Spit Roast Dinner ($10 p.p or $25 p.f.)
- A “lounge area” where you can talk, taste special coffee / tea and / or mocktails (non alcoholic cocktails – charge to cover costs)
- A Games Room (including cards, family feud, ping pong)
- A Singstar Talent Room
- A Pamper Room (small charge to cover costs)
- A display room of the approved plans
- Activities for people of every age.
Every single member of the parish is invited!
Remember to RSVP on the clipboard at your service.
Jim Kapetangiannis the Designer/Architect will also be on hand to share the celebration and answer questions you may have.
