It’s a Fine Line…
For a large part of the last 2 years people on the East Coast of Australia have longed for rain. Last Christmas the bush fires that occurred (especially in Victoria’s Gippsland district) stripped many areas of its trees and foliage. The farmers are happy but many areas are now experiencing floods and land slides as the rain has been too heavy before the forests had a chance to regrow. How Ironic! We need the rain for growth but we got just a little too much.
To grow, Churches need to welcome people from the community. Many will come with issues and lives that need Jesus Christ. At the same time we need to be a community that reflects the holiness of our God. We need to pray that God will give us the wisdom to live conspicuously different to the world around us and yet in an open, loving and accepting way that ministers mercy and forgiveness to those who need salvation.
It’s a very fine line!
