What are we waiting for?

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

At the end of Mark 13 Jesus declares to everyone “watch”.

What are we watching for?

We are watching for the day when Jesus will physically burst back into human history.

We are watching for the day when all pain and suffering is removed.

We are watching for the day when all injustice and evil is put right.

We are watching for the day when Jesus the King of the whole universe is visibly on His throne.

This great hope is the only prophecy we are waiting for Jesus to fulfil.

It is worth waiting for!

I Love This Time Of Year

…says Mel Humble

Mary Pickford was telling a group how much she missed doing the Letterbox Drop last year.

Mel, Nathan, Callum and Amy wanted to do something about it and challenge us all to get out and about over the next 2 weeks, connecting with our neighbours, and delivering the advertising for the Carols in the Showground on the 6th December and our Christmas programs.

The River of Ministry

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

We give God great thanks for the life and ministry Peter, Anna, Sarah and Mackayla Hutchinson have shared with us for 4 years.

They entered our parish during a time where our Family, Children’s and Youth Ministries have been flourishing. They helped us add events like the Open Air Easter Service at the Lake and the Gingerbread House event.

They shared their lives, home, leadership and faith with us. Our Church has flowed downstream to a new place where God has been preparing us to reach out and connect with our ever growing community.

Our prayer is that our church has also flowed blessings into their lives. They have grown in their time with us and I believe most of us will look back with thanksgiving to what God has been doing.
