CHRISTMAS CHECKLIST
Dec 20th
Have I bought Aunt Matilda’s present yet?
Has the ham been picked up?
Check if I have all the ingredients for the pudding?
Confirm time the family are arriving for lunch?
Have I got enough chairs for everyone?
The magic of Christmas can so easily be overtaken by the manic nature of Christmas. Every Christmas it is important to take time out and remember Jesus. This includes the reason He came, as well as the circumstances around His “manger occupation”.
So the most significant item on the Christmas Checklist is appreciating the enormous act of mercy and love of our God. Jesus came to put things right and it took Him to the cross. The real magic of Christmas is that God showed up for us.

The King is Calling
Dec 12th
The other day I spent 52 minutes while my phone call progressed in a queue. I was greatly thankful for the hands free speaker phone function. I was able to brew some coffee, eat lunch and sort my credit card statements.
God brought Jesus out of the tomb to be our king. He makes significant calls on His people and the challenge is not to place Him on hold.
He calls us to be 100% committed to His cause!
He also calls the wider community to come and join His kingdom. Therefore He calls His church to connect with the community and deliver that call.
Last weekend was a wakeup call to thousands of people at our Combined Churches Community Carols. Let’s build on that great opportunity by inviting our family, neighbours and friends to our special Christmas Services “So this is Christmas”.
