Warmest Winter

All the weather reports this week were dominated with the news that many places in Australia experienced the warmest winter ever recorded.

Does this confirm all the fears about global warming?
Is life as we know it about to change?
Will Windang disappear into the Pacific Ocean?
Will Dapto be a beachside suburb?

Paul reminds us in Romans 8:19-21 that the creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration…. in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay……

Our world is passing away. Let us not be alarmed that there are obvious signs of decay in our generation. It raises our priority in……

Building for Eternity

These words have had extra significance for many members of our Dapto Anglican community over the last month or so.

Three long term members, Jack Burrell, Terry Greenway and Grace Johnston have gone to be with JESUS!

Their lives were a testimony to their great Lord and Saviour. Now while many of us miss them greatly, we can rest assured that they now see the hope we grasp by faith.

Our ministries should all be viewed from an eternal perspective. Last week during our English for Life Class, as the class enjoyed a 10th Year Anniversary Lunch, one of our much loved students passed away. He had earlier expressed his love for God.

Our world is very fragile and we are all only one breath away from God.

WE MUST KEEP BUILDING FOR ETERNITY
THROUGH OUR
GATHERING, CARING AND GROWING!

Just start talking

60% of the people around us claim that they don’t even know a Christian! I fear we may be keeping the best thing about us a secret.

During September and October the churches of the Illawarra are joining in a mass media advertising campaign. TV and radio ads will appear on local and Sydney channels promoting Jesus. The campaign is aimed at raising awareness and posing questions.

The strategy is that everyday Christians in their neighbourhoods, work places, schools, sporting fields and shopping centres will have an opportunity at answering questions.

Get ready! We are offering a course; “Just Start Talking” over the next few weeks. You can sign up to the special courses to be held morning and evening at the Ministry Centre or get your Bible Study Group to borrow the DVD and run it yourselves.

More details available next week!
