You can make a difference

At Dapto Anglican Church our ministers, their administrative supporters and the running costs of our facilities are all funded through the regular giving of our members. (Trainees and community programmes gain part of their support from our direct contributions and outside sources.)

In 2010 we have returned to a full ministry staff team and therefore we need to achieve a target of $9,250 per week in member collections (this is the same level as targeted in 2009).  January this year saw us fall behind by $11,000 as many folk took well-earned vacations.  However, the church still has its regular financial commitments.  We desperately need people to catch up this shortfall in March and April.

Each member could make a difference if they were to give an extra $2 per week.  We could change our world if each member increased their contribution by $5 per week.  This would allow us to clear our shortfall and enable all the ministries God is laying before us to occur.

We particularly invite new members of Dapto Anglican to join in the privilege of giving to God’s work.  He calls us to be generous and sacrificial.  2010 sets of offertory envelopes are available at the door of our churches.  Please help yourself to a set.  Alternatively, set up a direct bank debit or give electronically -

Pathway Possibilities – Engagement

Have you ever noticed just how important the Resurrection of Jesus is to the apostles as they set about preaching the gospel in the first century?  Let me assure you, it’s a BIG DEAL!  With Easter coming up our responsibility under God, in the tradition of the early church, is to make known The Risen Jesus, and the hope of eternal life.  I would like, therefore, to invite all the Gospel partners at DAC to participate in all or some of the following Engagement opportunities this Easter:

1.          Specific and constant prayer – That we may see many people become disciples of Jesus this Easter. For the work being done by DAC members, St. Luke’s Pre-school and Koonawarra Public School in preparation for the Easter at the Lake Mission. Pray for Jimbo Mobbs as he prepares to declare the risen Jesus at this event.

2. Pick up a letter box drop pack from the Ministry Centre and commence distribution.

3. Take a step in engaging by delivering some Easter baskets to some of our church’s fringe contacts. Baskets and contact addresses will be waiting for you at the Ministry Centre from 22 March to 1 April.  There are 150 to deliver -  will you and a friend take a couple?

4.     Come along to the Easter at the Lake Mission event on 4th April.

It’s time to rise up, He did!
