The end of the financial year provided the perfect time to make donations to our two tax deductible funds – the Building Fund and the Religious Education Fund.

In early June, Stephen provided an update on the building project here on the front page, where he noted that our funding was around $34,000 below our estimated construction costs.  I am pleased to advise that in June we received donations of $26,581, so we now have most of the shortfall.

Also during June we received donations of $9,896 for the Religious Education Fund.

While I am thankful for this support for our church, I am concerned that our regular giving is well short of our target. At the end of June, we were $35,100 short of covering our costs for the first half of the year.

During Stephen’s sermon “Bring It On —the 120 Day Commitment” that he gave a fortnight ago, he challenged us to tithe during the next 120 days (4th July to 1st November),  a challenge that, if taken up, will change lives, both ours and people in Dapto.

I commend the challenge to you!
