Carols in the Mall

On Thursday, 15th December, DAC was invited by Dapto Mall to provide some Christmas songs, entertainment and fun activities for the shoppers at the Mall.
We had an hour or so of songs, dancing by Rockstars, and craft activities and face painting available for the shoppers.
I heard several very positive comments from the shoppers including one asking…. ‘When do our Rockstars meet, and could any kids join? It is apparent how much fun they have, I’d like my child to join’.
What a great testimony to Karoleena and her team. Well done!

Sondaze are Praying: Operation World

This week our Little Miss/Mr Men was Little Miss Picked-on so we spent time praying for nations around the world using the Operation World website (www.operationworld.org). If you would like to continue praying for the nations of the world with your children this week then check out the Operation World Countries List, choose a nation each day, trust Jesus with the nations.

God is working powerfully in Hipstars!

What a term, this Term 3 has been at Hipstars! We have really seen God at work in powerful ways and it has been a privilege to be part of what He is doing.
Throughout the term we looked at Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. We focused on the 5 senses and how Jesus was a real man, who met real people and their lives really changed after they encountered Him. We loved teaching the Word, hanging out with the girls, holding a pretend game show called ‘What’s in the Box’ each week (where a leader got to dress up as the gorgeous hostess), doing great crafts and participating in awesome activities.
We’ve had great numbers of girls each week- so many that we had to recruit new leaders!
Praise God for answered prayer with Miranda Janszen and Molly Pickford jumping on board this exciting ministry.
One of the highlights of the term was our mother daughter night. We had about 14 women join us for an evening of teaching, games, craft, good food and fellowship. Most of these women don’t have any other contact with our church community, so it was a really great opportunity to build relationships.
Last weekend we had another highlight for the term; a combined Hipstars/Gangstars sleep over. This was an amazing time to hang out with the kids and really just take time to strengthen relationships. Many of them also stayed on for Sondaze so it was a great opportunity for them to get a taste of church.
During the evening, 3 of our girls made a commitment to Jesus for the first time!!! What an exciting time it was!
Praise God for the work that He has done in these girls’ lives and pray that they will love and serve Jesus all the days of their lives.
Pray that He will continue to work in the other girls coming along, many of which come from homes where this is their only experience of God.

SUNDAYS is ‘SONdays’
SONdays 10am – 11.30am for any child aged 0-14 at our Ministry Centre and it’s free!
This term is ‘Blessedville!’ Looking at The Sermon on the Mount Matthew 5:1-13
Jesus is teaching about the kingdom of God which has arrived in Jesus but is still to come when we reach heaven. Meet Mr Depend, Mr Sad, Little Miss Humble just to name a few!
We have separate groups for each age and stage and have fun building friendships as we grow closer to Jesus. The children start off in church for the first 15 minutes then move off for their own program.

MONDAYS is ‘Rockstars’

kstars is our dance group on Monday afternoons 4:30– 5:30pm at our Ministry Centre, and…it’s free!
Boys and girls become more confident and have fun as they learn to dance and perform for God’. This term the children are choreographing their own dance!

HIPSTARS is for girls Kindy to Year 6. The theme this term is: ‘faithbook’ Add Jesus today for real encounters with a real God.
This t
erm we will be looking at people from the Bible who met Jesus. We’re smelling, seeing, touching, tasting and listening to see how Jesus was a real man who was really God, who met with real people. This real God/man Jesus wants us to have a real relationship with Him.

This term’s theme: Roll up…roll up! We’re having fun with ‘BIG TOP CIRCUS’.
God made the world and He is the ring master who invites us to be part of His crazy fun family.
