‘Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.’ Ephesians 5:11

Last Monday night just over 150 women gathered in our church building for our ‘Exposed’ Coffee & Dessert Night. Not only were our women exposed to some of the most delicious desserts in town, but they were also exposed to our culture in a way that most of them had never experienced before!

Our guest speaker, Melinda Tankard-Reist, presented to us a very confronting and disturbing picture of the way our culture objectifies and sexualizes women and children. We were encouraged to take action against these destructive messages, and were reminded that a woman’s true value has nothing to do with her body parts, but rather it is found in her character and integrity, and ultimately in belonging to Christ – which was aptly communicated to us through a musical item called ‘Beautiful’, performed by Faye Ellis and Jess Howells!

I would like to publicly thank the incredible team of people who worked so hard to make this event such a valuable experience – you are too numerous to name but your generous contributions were deeply appreciated!
