7 Billion….in peace
Sometime tomorrow, it is estimated by the United Nations, the world’s population will hit 7 billion people. In their report they encourage us not to so much celebrate the quantity as to look to the quality of life for the next 20 years.
Part of the reason for this population explosion is the growth of the average life expectancy from 48 years of age in mid 1900’s to 68 years of age, now. However, many of the world’s problems continue to exist with at least 2 billion people subject to poverty and war.
Paul in Ephesians 2:11-22 speaks of peace and reconciliation. It is available between people and God and between people and other people. We crave an end to all hostility but humanity has been unable to achieve it at any part of our history.
- The key, according to God, is that His Spirit lives within people. God Himself removes hostility by the death of Jesus and then He provides the power of peace and unity, by the gift of His Holy Spirit.
Our world is facing many profound problems and the answers are not easy. Each one of us can face them with Jesus or without Him. I know which option I choose!

Senior Pastor.

Best is Yet To Come: 4 day Albury/Beechworth Tour
This year our Seniors decided that the Albury/Beechworth area really needed 4 days to see everything. So from the 4th to the 7th of October, 44 of our Seniors set off by coach for a memorable trip.
They visited the Gerogery Doll Museum, a Cashmere Farm and watched the process of wool from the goat to the finished article. Visited the Jindera Pioneer Museum, which was really interesting. Viewed the Woolshed Falls, that were just beautiful.
They toured Beechworth Court House and re-enacted the Ned Kelly trial. Judge Tudno played the part well with defence counsellor Wal Sharp and prosecutor Peter Hanson. Our Ned Kelly (Bob Hutchinson) was not so keen on the turn out of the trial!
They also visited the Murray Breweries Historic Cellars with their Carriage Museum and Light Horse then on to the Telegraph Station.

Each night they gathered for devotions by Neville Stumbles, Wendy Eagleton and Tudno Rees.
Given the conversations and the good stories being shared around, everyone had a great time.
If you haven’t been on one of our Seniors Coach Tours yet, let me encourage you to plan to the next time around. It is a great way of getting to know Seniors from other services, to
build friendships, share in fellowship and enjoy all God has created in interesting places.
Thanks for your ongoing support of us – Richard Chin

Our Speaker this time around is Peter Kell. Many will know of Peter Kell possibly as part of Kells The Lawyers. Peter was a founding partner. Or perhaps you know Peter through his association with Wollongong University. Or perhaps you know Peter when he was CEO of Anglicare (started September 2004). He is active in church, university and community affairs, is a keen runner and a rugby ‘tragic’. Why not make it a priority to come along and hear Peter and meet some of our Dapto Anglican Seniors.
